I only use Olive Oil, Coconut, Palm and I make a gourmet bar with Avocado, Apricot Kernal Oil and a few others. I did recently try out CANOLA...I discounted my Olive oil in the recipe and replaced it with Canola. Not much difference in the soap, texture, or hardness. I did notice a slight difference in smell though...but nothing to worry about. BUT generally...if you use less expensive oils...you are sacrificing quality!

Let me post the one bar test batch I use sometimes....I have been known to just throw caution to the wind and turn out a 40 bar batch on an EXPERIMENT. :roll:
