i'm convinced bath confetti really CAN be done at home, but i'm just not quite certain how..it's talked about so much, with roughly the same process, but here's my thoughts...keep in mind, i'm as new to soaping as it gets...i think you'd need to change the M&P just a little...to make it just a bit....waterier? not really waterier, but thinned out, and changed to keep it from being less brittle. glycerin?? i'm sketchy on how that part could be done, so that's why i'm here. ..as for the rest of it, after you get the soap mixture made, you obviously need to poor a VERY thin layer, having a level surface is going to be key here.. but that's another matter. i'm thinking you'd want to use a sheet pan, the kind with the very low sides, lined with butcher paper, shiny side up, just like you would do with lining a wooden mold...or maybe even acetate paper, like projector film..it would just have to be something that will let the soap release really well but still be . after the super thin layer hardened, you'd want to take whatever shaped cutter, cookie or or otherwise...then after you've gotten all the shapes cut out, i'm thinking you could pick up the paper and the soap layer would come off???? leaving you with your cut outs and the scraps, like when you cut out cookies. i'm wonder if the scraps couldn't be milled again? but probably just easier to use the scraps as confetti also, OR, they'd look sooo pretty sprinkled on the tops, bottoms, middles of other soaps!
please, let me know you're thoughts on this. i'd really LOVE to pull this off. manufacturers charge an arm and a leg for this stufff, cheaper would be GREAT.
