Teach Soap

What are some of your favorite oils/EOs for face stuff? I've had several people ask about a face lotion. I've been hearing things like jojoba, rose hip, tea tree oil, geranium oil. Any other thoughts? I've gone through and done a bunch of searches, but was wondering what else you like or have found works well.

I like jojoba and any of the lighter weight oils. I don't like my face feeling greasy. For EO's it depends what type of skin a person has.

For my face, I'm going to 2nd Jojoba and add High Oleic Sunflower, because it's a nice light oil that absorbs quickly.
I don't like EO's on my face, so I can't comment on that.

I use my whipped unscented body butter on my face too as many of my customers do the main oil is olive would not work for oily skin of course. Because of the other ingreds it absorbs nice. I also like sweet almond oil for my face.

sweet almond oil
olive oil
shealoe butter
honey
fractionated coconut oil
jojoba oil

I've been doing a lot of research about which oils are good for the face, and I have come across several lists that show the comedogenic levels for oils, butters, waxes, etc. If you're like me, you only want to use oils that are non-comedogenic (meaning they won't clog pores). All the lists show the same numbers, but this is the most comprehensive one I could find:

You might already know this stuff, but I didn't because I'm a newbie So I figured I would pass it along! One oil that I don't see on this list but that supposedly has a level of zero in terms of clogging is hemp oil...I got some last week at the store and have been using it every day. So far so good!

As much as people are against mineral oil, there is a time and place for its usage. Mineral oil creates an occlusive layer on the skin, which helps prevent moisture from evaporating. This can be a good thing, especially in cold climates. Do any of you remember putting vaseline on your face or cheeks in the cold of winter? Same purpose.

I have to say... with winter and sometimes just work... my hands will be riddled with dermatitis (dry, breakout, become red, itchy and then crack). One of the best solutions I found was white petroleum (vasiline) mixed aprox 50/50 and rubbed in. Then I started reading about petroleum products so I changed, well nothing was working as well - my poor hands suffered. So just about 1 week ago I went back to my mixture.... and within 3-4 days my hands are back to normal. So I just figured everyone's skin is a little different and this is what mine needed. I have never tried this for my face... would probably choose a lighter oil.

I love vasiline for my feet!! Shower > Lather it on feet > put socks on and go to bed. The next morning they are as smooth as a baby's bum!

If you have really ruff calleoused feet or cracks on your heels do what Coolah says, but wrap them in plastic wrap. Just be careful if you need to get up to use the BR during the night.

Haha yes! I nearly cracked my head open one night sitting at my desk, yet to put my socks on and the little one woke. I got a fright and just jumped up to go get him. Got two steps in and skiid the rest until I fell flat on my bum!

(I can't have the plastic as I get too hot and suffer really bad nightmares ><)
