Teach Soap

Does anybody use SoapMakerPro? My Lye and Water amounts don't match my recipe after I entered them. I'm using Alicia Grosso's "If You Ever Make One Batch" as my benchmark. My water discount is 0% but I have to reduce the Lye Discount to ZERO to get the Lye amount to be anywhere near Alicia's. I'm still fairly new to CP, so it concerns me moving forward and calculating my own base oil recipes.

Hi TickledSink! I just answered this question on another thread, but basically you need to set your lye discount under the PREF section of the menu bar. Click on the solid soap tab and there's a box on the right that where you can set your default water discount. If you set it to 35% as your default amount that will be close to the recipe you were referencing (Love that recipe, BTW!). Once it's changed there all your new recipes will be at 35% discount, so you can leave it at 0% when you enter a new recipe. If you want to do a larger water disount, then you can change it on the new recipe window - it will take your default discount of 35% and add any additional discount you want to take. hope this makes sense!

Ahhh, ok. Thank you! I did see your post on the other thread. I'm just still new enough to not know if changing the water discount would effect that lye discount calculation in the program. Thank you so much, this is very helpful!
