I tried. I even put a towel over it to help. It just didn't make the corners...

I don't have a heating pad :( Would sitting it on a wooden cutting board help?

I'm not just in Australia... I'm in Melbourne. About now, every Aussie is nodding and going "aaaaaah".

See, Melbourne is, well, special. Yesterday morning I got up at 7am to 30 degrees. By lunch time it was 39. By dinner time, it was 28. I got up this morning and it's 22.

Inside of my car on a hot day can reach 50 - 60 degrees~

No radiator to sit it on either, but blimey I wouldn't want it on atm haha.

It was sitting on a cake drying rack yesterday - one of those metal things that lets air underneath. So maybe just sitting on a solid surface might help?

According to the weather channel, your temp is in the 70's (US measure). That won't help gel your soap. How about if you put a towel in the dryer, get it nice and warm, then wrap it around your soap?

Yeah today is only 20 degrees. Last two days have been 40. LOL that's Melbourne weather for you =p

Will try the towel trick if I make soap later. I want to see how the ones I made yesterday unmold to (hopefully) see if I am on the right track with the new oil.

So, I checked my soaps. I wanted to see if I could unmold it before I go up the shops, if they were good, I would buy more oil.

Everything feels firm/hard. But what causes this:

See the crack forming? My soap always seems so attached to it's mold! :?
That's what happens when I'm trying to push the edge of the mold away from the soap. Instead of separating from each other, the soap stays stuck to the mold.

That crack could be overheating.

It's yesterday's soap though. The crack only appears when I try to unmold.

The photo was taken with me pushing the edge away slightly with one hand. The slightest push to unmold and I get those cracks on all 4 sides of my soap.

Looks like it stuck to the mold a little and is cracking rather than pulling away from the sides. You have a crafter's choice silicone mold too, don't you? I read that the soap is more likely to stick to the heavy duty plastic. I so want one of those silicone molds *jealous*

Yup, I have the Crafters Choice 1501 Loaf Silicone Mold.

That one there however is just a thick plastic draw liner...
