I found a nice wooden mold on sale... cheaper than making one myself. So I got myself a christmas gift! Its quite a bit like the BB ones, only its in Canada and not a bajillion dollars S&H. They are on vacation till Jan 17 though so it'll be a while before I can get it. Glad I have my plastic shoe box! hehe

That looks like a nice mold. I like the wing nuts to make it easier to unmold your soap. :wink:

I agree with Linda. My husband made me two 4 pound molds when I was first starting out and I quickly discovered that they were too much at that time. He cut one down to 2- two pounders. Perfect size but harder to get out and to get me big hands in there to line. With the wing nuts, that would be perfect. Good luck with the new mold and let us know how it works for you.

Looks just like the mold my carpenter friend made me, which cost him nothing as he used scrap wood he already had in his shop, and so it ended up only costing me the price of one beer! Hes making 3 more for me as we speak! I think I can afford a 6 pack for those! Lining them is the tricky part for me, but with a little bit of practice, is going to get easier and easier.
