Just went to cut the bars, and I noticed that there is oil at the bottom:

When you touch the top, if leaves a print of your finger too:

Still ok to cut?

That's too soft to cut. Leave it be for a couple of days. The oil on the bottom might reabsorb back in.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'll pop it on the bookshelf. Least it's out of my mold now lol. So I can have a 3rd go at CP now!! :lol:

If you gel, typically you can cut as soon as your soap is cooled off - between 12-24 hours.

If you don't gel, it could take a few days or more depending on your recipe.

I agree with soapbuddy - let it sit for a few days before cutting.

So my flippin cats were up on the bookshelf this morning and trying to get to my soap :evil:

They had moved my Spearmint Swirl a little bit, and upon moving back noticed it felt firm on the top finally. So I decided to cut it open and see what's what.

Um... not hard. Very, very (VERY!) soft! This is the recipe with 10% Castor Oil (I have now reduced to 5% for future recipes) and has the Avocado Oil.

Feedback? Opinions? Thoughts?

What is the white spot on this bar??

As I got closer and closer to the middle it was just becoming impossible to cut. This is the very middle of the bar. The cutter went through, but... well yeah they didn't become 'bars' obviously. :roll:

From the pics it looks like the soap might still have been in gel in the middle. Did the soap feel completely cool or was it still slightly warm when you cut it?
