 Post subject: castor oil vs glycerin

I am making bubble bars and decided to change up the called for glycerin with castor oil as I thught it would contribute to the BUBBLES ,but I have read somewhere that castor will only contribute to bubbles if it is saponified ,any thoughts on this ? :D

That is probably correct, because it remains an oil until it's saponified and oils don't lather. That's the main reason it's not recommended adding more than 1 TBsp of oil per pound of MP soap - you loose the lather and it softens the soap. Glycerin would be my choice for bubbles. :D

Castor has to saponify in order to get bubbles. If you want more bubbles in bubble bars, you will need a surfactant like polyglucose lactylate or SLsA.
