I've had a customer approch me about the possability of making soap for her and her shop ( and outdoors , hunting, camping , back to nature kind of place) with bear tallow as one of the oils. Her husband gets his quota every year and I guess he freezes the tallow which I would be rendering. Has anyone ever worked with this kind of tallow? I know the indians used it fir all sort of stuff.

I've used deer tallow and used the SAP value of lard.

your right about hunters not wanting to smell, also I do an unscented goats milk soap for people want it. you make a very good point .............thanks

I thought the idea of anise EO was to mask the human scent. If you use an unscented product you do not mask the human scent, just clean it up. All the hunters in my area (which is almost all the men and most of the women) love the anise soap for it's masking properties.
