Great video, cat! :D And the soap turned out fantastic! I hope the scent comes back for you :o

(Glad to see someone using one of those cheese slicers. I wasn't sure if the wire would stand up to a loaf of soap, but looks like it does!)

Well, I took folks' advice about mantra swirling into account this past weekend and tried, tried again ;D I would have liked for this green color to be darker -- it's hard to make out the finer swirls with the lack of contrast. ;(

Since I was really curious about how it would look, I cut both vertically and horizontally, just to see. XD

Image
Vertical cut, lots of nice zigzags from the coat hanger method. Not very "swirly", though... again, thinner soap might have helped. (I wasted a lot of unexpected time on the green oxide  )

Image
The horizontal cuts. They're hard to make out, but there are a few pretty swirls in there, I swear.

I think I actually sort of like the clear division of color (as opposed to something more random like an ITP swirl) for this particular scent -- citrus and basil EOs.

Jenova, I like the gental blending of colors. Did you use a thin hanger or a thickened one? And your choice of color is great for the scent.

Thanks Bubbles and soapbuddy!
I did what someone -- I think it was cat? -- recommended last week, and wrapped a couple of bamboo skewers around the working part of the hanger with saran wrap :)

Ashlee, that looks like a pretty but a small batch. I know the color is pretty, but if you forgot to add your superfating oil, the soap will most likely be very drying. If I was you, I would rebatch and add the oil that you forgot.

BTW. There is no need to add ANY superfating oil or butter at trace. Soap at trace is still very active and there is no guarantee that any superfating oil will actually end up as your superfat. The lye will take whatever it wants. Add all your oils and butters right up front.

I've been away from the forum for a few days - great soaps everybody! :)

Mella, love the MP/CPHP At the Beach soap!

Soaphel, the soap cupcakes are so pretty! Love the bright red color!

Jenova, the mantra swirl is very cool. I like the colors and the zigzag swirls.

Ashlee, I love the colors and texture in your soap. If you rebatch, I hope it goes well!
