Teach Soap

I usually leave my GM's soap on its natural color because I find it hard to achieve a nice shade when adding oxides or pop micas particularly purple, it just turns greyish. I would like to be able do some swirling to my GM soaps, has anyone got a suggestion how to do this successfully? Is there any other colorants that would achieve better colors? I usually don't gel my soaps as I found out gelling dulls up colors. Thank you in advance for your help

I like to use cocoa powder for swirls because the color holds true and looks nice in tan soaps.
BB lab colors are actually brighter and more intense in gelled soaps.

Thank you Linda for your reply, I have never tried lab colors but I will them a go, hope I can get better swirls. Yes I like coca powder but when I make lavender soaps I like to use purple but it usually turns out grey

If the soap turns out grey, it's possible that you haven't used enough color.

Color is a funny thing sometimes I put same amounts in different batches and they either turn too strong or greyish or very faint, I just can never tell how the color is going to turn out, I haven't experimented with lab colors, I've only used oxides and now pop micas which are very nice. Thank soapbuddy for your advice I'll try a bit more color and see what happens
