I recently got a very touching request from a potential customer. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to fill it because I just moved across the country for a few months (boyfriend is in the military) and my business is closed to sales until January. Rather than relate her story myself, I'll just post the message she sent me here. If anyone can achieve a true Ponderosa fragrance, it would mean a great deal to both of us:
I'd love to buy one of your soaps whenever your get your online store up and running; I live in Maryland. The only thing is that, I don't know if you've ever smelled Ponderosa Pine, but it doesn't smell like a typical pine tree. You might've known that, maybe not. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
The story is sad, but I don't mind sharing. I moved to Colorado several years ago with my long-time boyfriend - I loved it there, loved him and everything about my life. After a few years, though, he started to miss his family and money was tight so we moved back to the east coast. If you haven't already checked my history, I'll just tell you - he died shortly after we moved back here. I was with him for (at that point) more than a fifth of my life and he was abruptly taken from me.
I associate him with the smell of those trees and the happiness and love we had while we were in that state, and would practically give my left arm to get some of the bark or needles or whatever it is about that tree that makes it smell the way it does. I don't even know. I can just think about that smell and it brings me so many happy memories; I just thought that if I could find something like that it would help me with some of my anxiety and depression problems.
Anyway, I've bookmarked your store and will keep an eye on it come January. If you can help in any other way it would mean the world to me.
Thanks again,
Caitlyn
