Oops, I thought I posted the scent. Guess I forgot in trying to get the photo to load.

The scent is lavender FO from Bramble Berry. It traced very quickly (under 60 seconds to a pudding consistency) but I still had plenty of time to color and swirl.

@mella - those swirls are gorgeous! I love how the colors in the second batch seem to be almost outlined :o

Well, I had utter stripe fail, partially because my uncolored soap was turning to custard way too fast and I was rushing... but -- the purple here is colored with alkanet root infused in olive oil, and I was pleasantly surprised at the color. I kind of expected it to be more blue, really!

Since I ended up dividing off too much purple soap, I decided to try to play with the top. I think it looks kinda like blueberry topping or something on a cheesecake.

Trying to get the photos smaller with photobucket. When the page if over large it makes reading difficult!

I made a 5 pound batch and split it so each loaf had it's own look, same colors. Ungelled batch and my impatient self cut it too soon so it will need some dressing up. Photos are before the bevel, which I'll do in a day or two.

I'm happy with the way it worked out soaped at 107 lye and 100 oils it set up quickly so next time I'll increase the water a touch. An ocean floral blend. Only one photo of a log. The other log was all white on top.

Here it is cut

And a cut shot of the second loaf which is white on top.

Mella, love the colors. The last one is my favorite.

Jenova, your soaps look good enough to eat! Love the layering and the textured tops. 8)

Mella, love the swirls in your soap! The last photo is fantastic. I'm still trying to master the textured-top look. I tried to swirl a bit of color on top of one of my recent soap batches and get some peaks on top, but I don't think the trace on my swirling soap was thick enough. Ah, well, I'll keep trying! Great job! :)

Here is the pumpkin puree soap that I was fretting about in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6557. I used BB's Copper Sparkle mica and it was a beautiful orange color when I poured it. I knew it would brown over time, though, because of the FO. I'm pleased with how it turned out!
