So I made a batch of milk and honey soap (w/beeswax/honey/half 'n half) about a month ago and it's wonderful soap. I divided the batch in half and added patchouli and lime EOs to one and ground oats to the other (no FO/EOs).

I SWEAR the EO scented bar melts faster in the shower/bath than the non-EO bar with oats in it.

Anyone else ever notice this? I could be imagining things and it wouldn't be the first time 8) but really, it seems that the bar with oats lasts longer than the bar with EOs!

I wonder if it's because the oats soak up some of your water, so that bar gets harder faster?

That was my thinking too. Would be cool if that were true because a lot of people like to use oats in their soap!
