You have to remember that they are a supply store for candle scents, too... so I can see why they would carry some scents that work great for candles and are horrid for soaps (especially spicey scents since they can be more irritating to skin). So, when ordering from NG, definitely check out their usage rate table and if you think it's a mistake, you can e-mail them, or click on the MSDS fact sheet which will list the IFRA safe usage amount towards the bottom (Category 9 is used for hand-made soaps).

One supplier I buy FOs from also has tons of candle scents. On their website they have a separate section for skin safe oils. When I go to their showroom, they are always nice enough to print me a list of which oils are skin safe so I won't get one that is meant for candles only.

Some of my best sellers are from Nature's Garden. I probably have 60-100 of their fragrances, and more in testers.

Back in May they had an open house, and I sniffed all 700+ of their fragrance oils. Yes, my nose was quite burned out by the time I was done, and it took several hours to get through them all. But it probably saved me a couple hundred dollars in testers (and I was able to pick up wax, too) and there were some fragrances I would have never even purchased testers for that I ended up bringing home because I was able to smell them.

The owner, Deb, is a sweetheart and everyone there is more than willing to get you the information you need.

Their Drakkar is great. Their Orange Blossoms is Fabulous. Vanilla Lavender is good too. Butt Naked smells better soaped than oob. It sticks too.

To those of you that have NG's FO's can you tell me which ones work in CP with no problems?

Here's a short list of the ones I can't live with out:

Democrat - no problems at all (I renamed it though, good one for the teens, the kids just love it)
Japanese Cherry Blossum - I noticed a teensy bit of discoloration, but the scent is so worth using the TD
Monkey Farts - turns a light yellowish beige (some of the reviews said they had ricing, I've never had ricing, and I've been through quite a bit of it)
Bite Me - fruit punch OOB, but more complex after cure.
Tooth Fairy Taffy - serious discoloration, their vanilla stabilizer works pretty good with this FO, I get a creamy white with it.
Sweet Grass - no issues

I have more sitting on the curing rack from the past 2 weeks, I will update in the next couple weeks.

Oh, the Bi-Polar sounded so good in the description, but OOB it gave me the worst migraine... Being as cheap as I am, I soaped it anyway, soap on a stick in less than 10 seconds, made me so sick, I had to lay down for a few hours, and it smells of new car scent, and burning garbage after the cure. I had to get it out of the house. Just thinking about it makes my head spin. My teenage boys put a bar in all their junkers and project cars in the lot to keep the animals and stinkers out.

Thank you for the update everyone. I'll take a look at my wish list and see what I can add.

I tried a bunch of samples and ordered larger amounts of the ones I liked. I use between one and two ounces (a shot glass - jigger actually) per batch of soap I make, which comes to be ~ 1750 g of oils. I think the smell is VERY strong but I am super sensitive to fragrances...
