I tried to get creative and made some facial soap. I replaced the water with aloe and used tea tree oil. It traced really fast. I let it set in the mold for 2 days. The soap ended up being really gooey and wet. It is holding it's shape, but is very soft. It is about the consistency of damp play dough. Will it harden up?

What was your recipe? How much water did you use? Did you reach true trace? Did the soap gel? How much tea tree per lb. of soap did you use? Did you use a scale? A stick blender?

I used:
24 oz of olive oil
24 oz of coconut oil
38 oz of crisco
12 oz of lye
32 oz of aloe
2 oz of tea tree oil

I think I used to much tea tree oil. The soap is pretty stinky  I did get a true trace. I have no doubt about that. I did use a scale and a stick blender. I am not to sure if it gelled or not...

I'm presuming the Crisco is soybean based. If so here is your recipe.

Coconut Oil 24ozs. 27.91%
Olive Oil 24ozs. 27.91%
Soybean Oil 38ozs. 44.19%
Total Weight 86 ozs.
For this size batch, you would need 22 to 32 fluid ounces of liquid (water, aloe).
For 7% superfat, you would need 11.92ozs. of lye (I round off to 11.9 ozs.)
2 ozs. of tea tree for this size batch looks ok to me.

Looks ok to me. You used maximum amount of water, so I would leave it be for now.
If it didn't gel, it can take up to three days to completely saponify. That could also be why the soap is still soft.

Good! Hopefully tomorrow it will be harder. The ingredients on the crisco can says that it is a soybean/palm oil blend. If there is to much liquid in there will it evaporate out?

You're welcome. When it's humid your soap might sweat. People use dehumidifers for that.

I tried this soap out this morning and I loved it! It is very moisturizing. It passed the zap test before I tried it out. I noticed that at least one of them had a few large bubbles. I popped one and noticed that there was liquid in it. I tried the zap test again actually touching my finger on the liquid and it still did not sting. I could squeeze that soap and liquid will ooze out. Is it okay?

What is odd is that none of the other slices of this same batch are doing this. Only the one piece with the bubbles is oozing. The other pieces are softer that my other batches, but they are not oozing.
