That's beautiful soap! :D

May I know if you added the shea butter during trace or did you heat it up with the oils before the lye?

Just add the shea in with the oils. The lye will take what it takes, so there is no reason to hold any oil/butter out.

And Karri, I think that some of the reason....maybe.... that your soap was soft a bit longer, was that you had only 30% hard oils. For me, I think that 40% works better, making harder bars. But as you are now seeing, there really are few hard and fast rules that cannot be broken, or at least altered under the right circumstances. So as long as your soap turns out well, great job!
