Teach Soap

Does it "speed" things up when working toward trace? The last time I used it, which was quite a few years ago, it seemed like all of my soap wanted to trace rather quickly.

I have decided that I need/want to tweek my standard recipe a bit and like the qualities that castor has to offer, but I'm a bit nervous to use it

I've never used it at more than about 7-10% and haven't noticed problems with fast trace ... but most of my recipes have 5% so far and it's fine, so maybe start at that level. It seems to be enough to add bubbles!

Thank you, Karri! I make soap at room temperature now whereas when I first started, I didn't know what in the heck I was doing

I use castor in every batch with no acceleration issues.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I also use it all the time at 4%. Nothing compares to the rich, thick bubbles it creates and have never had any negative trace issues.

I don't soap without it. I was using it at 10% but not anymore...dropped it down to 5%- no problems and plenty of bubbles!
