I am going to be placing a BB order soon and could use some advice on a good "Apple" FO. My new daughter-in-law likes the smell of fresh apples, so I will try to come up with something just for her.

Can't help you, but wanted to say HI! You haven't been around for awhile now. Congratulations on your new DIL! :P

Hi Linda. I've been up to my elbows with work, and I try to get out in the boat as often as I can in the summer. :D I guess I will order the "Applejack Peel", and "Red Apple", and start from there.

Lucky you! We live right near a huge TVA lake and need to make friends with someone that has a boat - LOL

Applejack Peel sounds nice. Let me know what you think of it, please. :D

AppleJack is more spicy and sort of a fallish scent. I don't smell a whole lot of apple in there.

I know this crazy but apple jack feel smells kindof like pumpkin pie to me. Since I like that scent I love it! But I dont use many fragrances just started soaping and my littliest is really sensitive. I do have tons of EOs I use for other stuff and made a lemongrass Vanilla
(the vanilla Fo) soap whch smells great. I only make 500g batches to but since I have awesome scale at the lab no worries on the proportions so far.

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll skip on the "Applejack Peel" for now then, and try just the "Red Apple". I'm glad I checked.

And Linda, I don't want to make the wrong impression with my boat.... the average person probably does not want to go boating with me. Have you seen the show: "Swamp People"? It's almost like that, but without the alligators.

I like the Red Apple, haven't tried Applejack Peel. I don't know how Red Apple does in CP though...I've only used it in MP.

Applejack is a little spicy, but it's really a fantastic FO. One of my favorites. You may try something else for a true apple, but this one is still worth sampling.

I bought some Red Apple FO from a different source - EE if that means anything to anyone. I used two ounces in a 9.5 lb batch of soap. I know you don't get a good idea of what the final smell will be by smelling the soap while it's cooking, but I did it anyway. I decided to add a teaspoon of lemon EO and a teaspoon of Orange Valencia EO. The batch took forever to trace, but it has a nice apple smell. I don't know if BB gets the Red Apple FO from the same place EE does, but I liked the results.

O.K. - The BB order arrived and SueW made a batch using .7 oz. per pound of Red Apple FO. It is now gelling and the house smells like fresh apples!! We'll see how it holds up as it cures, but this one looks like a keeper. It did speed trace just a bit.

Next order I might try the Applejack Peel - I have a feeling that having soap around that smells like pie may not be the best idea for me.

Very interesting thread.
Sure apple smell is very good and you could mix some apple's seeds oil
in any oil. I think it depends to your choice that what you like.

Realise this is an old thread, but since there's so many mentions of Applejack Peel I thought I would poke it back alive.

I've just CP'd Applejack Peel and while it is a lovely scent, it riced on me >< No mention of this on the BB page. Anyone used this scent and had problems?
