Teach Soap

Hello there TS forum
So it’s full blown summer here in the Midwest and I have yet to get out my soaping equipment and start soaping in fear of what this humidity and heat could do. My question~ since we have the air-conditioning off for most of the summer, will this affect my CP soap making?

I usually soap a little cooler and it always goes into gel in about an hour or so, my laundry room is about 80 degrees in the summer and I keep fans blowing on the top of the mold (I keep it on a raised cooling rack, too)while it's gelling to prevent overheating. Good luck.

My biggest problem with soaping in the heat is that my goggles keep fogging up!

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

My biggest problem is keeping my soap batches cool enough so they don't gel. It's in triple digits here and any soap that's put on my patio will fully gel in just a couple of minutes.

From one Buckeye to another, I never let anything encept illness come in between me and soaping! Seriously, I tend to soap later in the night since my craft room and kitchen are not air-conditioned, but I still soap. The humidity is more of a problem in my opinion. But when it is too bad, a dehumidifier works.

SB~ yes that could be a problem, I do not want gelling either.
Lavlady~ i would imagine that it might take my soaps longer to cure bc of the humidity!?

Yep it can cause and issue. But generally speaking, I dont think we have it too bad here, not like Louisianan or someplace! If you don't want to gel, then maybe you will have it a bit harder. I personally always gel, so I wasnt even considering that.
