It's perfectly lovely!

And good on you for having the peace of mind to just forge ahead. I probably would have tried to still incorporate those EOs somehow and then got all mussed up in the process while my soap got thick as concrete. Hehe.

:D Thanks, guys! The color in person actually reminds me of orange juice, which I suppose works! Although cat's comment is making me consider a pink swirl through an orange base, hmm...

Very nice color. I did the same thing with my carrot soap, but I went for the coloring vs scent. Made a second batch that day and used the FO. I decided its 'a horse apiece'. I never get tired of having extra soap around.

Jenova, great job! Sorry you lost your swirl, but it still looks pretty! I only use between 1 tsp and 1 tablespoon of the infused oil for color. Where I get my depth of color is from the infusion itself. I have one jar that has a LOT of seeds in it and one that has considerably less. the one is dark orange and the other is a pale orange and if used at a small amount will offer me a yellow. So you can experiment that way. Plus the longer it sits, the darker it gets, so I always have some setting and infusing! Much luck!

Hi, until today I have been away from soap making for the past few weeks as my Mum died last month, here is my latest, I exclusively do hot process as I am very, very impatient and it shortens the curing time, I also love the rustic look of my soaps.

Sorry about the size, I haven't worked out how to resize it yet

Hel I'm so sorry to hear you have lost your mom. That is when I felt like an orphan when I lost my mom.

Glad you found your way back to soaping. I too like the HP from fragrance and color and love the results early as well.

I haven't shared lately and so here is a CPOP for the hims and hes.

I promise you I did size this down and that it didn't work. Will try later!

edit to add UNCLE!

lol, Bubbles, that's my thought on it too, as long as the pH is all right, extra soap around the house will get used eventually!

@LavenderLady, thanks! I think I could probably get a decently orange color with a tablespoon of this stuff. I did a "quick" infusion in a crock pot but it did sit around (not always cooking) for about 14 hours with a looot of annatto seeds; the oil is quite red, and bright yellow-orange on a piece of paper towel. I wasn't sure how much of it to use this time around but clearly I overdid it a bit.

@soaphel, so sorry to hear about your mum :(
That's a nifty looking bar there (I love the texture on top!), what's it scented with?

@mella, oooh, that's lovely! Very spring/summery :3

Thanks Everyone, it's scented with Dragonsblood,

Mella, the picture looks exactly the same as in real life, not very complex either,

i just split the batch in half and coloured one half with black oxide and the other with red oxide then glopped them in the mould a couple of spoonfuls of one then the other at a time until it was all in there then a couple of bangs on the table to even it all out and get rid of air bubbles.

The white spots are not planned, i seem to get these no matter what i do when i HP, maybe the colour is just not mixed in enough. Any tips on avoiding this would be most welcome :)

Hel x

I love dragons blood fragrances. Your colors are good for the fragrance! About the pieces well there are blogs on youtube that show different ways of doing HP.

Here is my beginning blog and I'll try to post a link to one that helped my technique if you promise to leave a hello to the lady that shared her technique!

Soaphel, very nice Dragonsblood soap! Red and black are nice colors for that FO - I've used both for one of my Dragonsblood soaps, too. I did a M&P double pour with black oxide and merlot mica. I like the texture of your soap, too. I am so sorry to hear the sad news about your mom, though. You are in my thoughts. :(

Mella, I love the swirls and the pretty tops of your soaps, too! Great job! :)
