Teach Soap

I have been on vacation for almost two months but will be home soon with the soap making supplies and soap I have bought.
Went to Otion in Bellingham. Woot woot.
Bought a lotion bar at Pike Place Market. Not very happy with. It just seems like an inexpensive oil with beeswax and fragrance.
Got a nice cold process at Wholefoods in Jackson Wyoming.
Did not buy buffalo tallow soap in South Dakota
Bought an As Seen on TV ritz cracker keeper at Big Lots that I think will make a perfect round soap mold. They also had a square cracker about three inches across that I think I will go back and get.
Leaving Starbucks for the quilt shops in Pulallup Wa.
Life is good. Soap, quilting and coffee. Oh. Did I mention I recently retired?

Congrats on your retirement! That cracker keeper sounds interesting.

First off I am so jealous... retired?! I 'working my way there'! Sounds like you are having a super vacation.
Second, I am going to Otion in July, any words of wisdom? Did you create anything at the soap bar? I am hoping to get to pikes market but don't know. Heard the parking was terrible??? Looking forward to stopping at some wineriers and Mount St Helens.
We are flying so will be limited on what we can return with. I have a list of the scents I want to sample at Otion.

I visit my daughter in Tacoma and ALWAYS take the express bus into downtown Seattle. Once you get downtown there is a free shuttle bus you can catch, however, I had no problem walking from Pike Market to Pioneer Sqaure. Pioneer Square isn't the greatest part of town but they are doing a lot to clean it up. The Underground Seattle Tours can be a lot of fun if you get a good guide. I went to the Klondike Gold Rush Museum and did an historical walking tour with a park ranger.

The lotion bar I bought was from a vendor called Moon Valley Organics. The lotion was only safflower oil, beeswax and fragrance and botanicals.

The visitors center at Mt St Helens is great. I just watched an anniversary special on the eruption on PBS.

The best thing about Otion is getting to smell all the fragrances. I didn't make any soap but I got some advise. I bought a mold that looks like a moon face for my lotion bars and some push up containers. Also micas.
