I went through all 11 pages and didn't see anything stick out that might answer this question.

I DO know the difference between FO and EO. My interest is trying to stay as natural as possbile
when I make my own soaps. What I don't know is the difference between EO Original and Organic.
Are they both 100% natural? Is Organic more natural than original?

Thanks in advance.

Hi JoeyA,

This isn't really a direct answer because I don't know what company you are buying from. I would think, if you are buying from a reputable company, and the lable says "100% essential oil" pressed or distilled, than that's what you're getting, a natural product. It's your choice whether to use organic or not. Essential Oils should be 100% natural, unless they state they are a blend of some sort. Be wary of who you buy from though, I've seen 100% Pure Vanilla EO being sold (which doesn't exist) and even Strawberry EO, which is just plain silly! Goes to show, anyone can put anything on a lable.

Plus, Certified Organic doesn't always mean more natural or better than. A product can be 100% natural, and just as good or even better than Certified Organic. An example: My humble little mushroom farm. I don't use anything except harvested spore, and logs I have cut down on my own farm. By the highest standards, my mushrooms would be "organic" however, I do not bring in enough revenue to pay for the government "certification"

Look under the Melt and pour section. There is a good discussion there about organic.

@FarmScapeGoods - Thanks so much. I will be buying all of my bases, colorants, and EOs from Brambleberry :)

What confused me it that BB lists their EOs as 100% PURE, then I read Organic EOs which are also 100% Pure.
I think what confused me is if something is 100%, I assumed it means they are 100% natural and organic. But I
guess that's not true. I'm mixing up the 2.

@Bubbles2 - thanks for the location. I will check that out as well.

The difference between 100% Pure and 100% Pure Organic is that the growth/harvest/extraction process must follow government guidelines to qualify for organic certification, as I mentioned, just because a product isn't certified organic, doesn't mean it's a lesser quality. On the flip side, just because a product is certified organic, doesn't mean it's an absolutely fantastic thing either. The process is not flawless in the least bit.
So if you choose the organic, or not, you're still getting a 100% natural EO. It's up to you ; ) I look into a company's policy on things like fair trade, sustainable crops, processing, and the like. Then I make my choices.

I trust BB products 100% and have been using them with confidence. I've only had one problem with one product, and they were absolutely wonderful to deal with.
