I was lucky enough to be able to spend all of yesterday morning making soap and trying out some new colors & additives!

Image

Front: Apricot Freesia Goats Milk Soap with lemon peel powder and the pink & black swirl is scented with Energy
Back: Full Moon (scented with Black Vetyver Cafe- Jo Malone type) and Tea Tree Goats Milk Soap

I love the Apricot Freesia FO - it smells so good (and I generally don't care for fruity scents!)

Very nice Karri! You seem to be coming along nicely in your addiction!
Linda, I LOVE the moon soap! Very cool indeed! And of course you know I love anything you make with the floral mat ! The black and pink is really neat too. What is your black? Is it charcoal?

ljm, fantastic job. I love, love love the full moon! I was dreaming of something like that for halloween (with a bat) so will tell me how you did it? And I was thinking more purple-blue for the sky, but yours is so great I will have to re-think.

Very nice goat's milk soap, Karri! It looks perfectly creamy and I love the textured tops.

Love your soaps too, ljm! The Full Moon soap is so cool looking! And I love the look that the fondant mat gives your Apricot Freesia soap. 8)

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

The Full Moon soap was inspired by Kristy, from Kristy’s Lovely Lathers (as seen on the Soap Queen blog last week)

@Tammy - the black is black oxide powder (I've been wanting to try it for a while now!)... but I think I colored too much of the soap with it. I was hoping for more pink. :? Oh well. There's always next time! :lol:

@Bubbles2 - I made the "moon" using a 2in PVC pipe mold slightly longer than my loaf mold and poured that the day before. The next morning I made my "sky" by doing an ITP swirl of half violet powder colorant (from Elements) and half black oxide. I poured about an inch in my loaf mold and then placed my "moon" in and then poured the rest around it. I was really happy with the way it turned out because I've never tried this technique before!

@Karri - I didn't use a stamp. I used a fondant mat from Wilton. 8)
