Does anyone know of a realistic (not too sweet) wine fragrance? Preferably red, but that part isn't too important. I've used Berrywine before and it would be way too sweet for this project; WSP carries them but half of the reviews say the red is too grape-juice-like and the white hasn't been reviewed yet.

I could also blend my own with EO sif anyone has a recipe they are willing to share? I'd have no idea where to start with this one.

edit: I assume just using wine itself would be in some FDA code violation, i.e. distributing alcohol without a license?

I just did a quick search and found this: http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/can ... e_Oil.html

It seems that though they cater to candles, they do offer skin-safe/soap-safe fragrances and they do have several different wine scents but this one seemed the least sweet smelling from the reviews and description.

I have a couple of Wine FO's from NG and they work fine in soap.

You can certainly use wine, there's no distribution problems there. But, it won't smell like wine. I do a red wine soap with Merlot or Cabernet (whatever I have on hand that's too old to drink) my customers think it smells like wine, but it doesn't

I think it's their imagination, or, they are just really hoping it does :lol:

I bought NG White Zin and soaped it in CP, didn't think it smelled at all like wine. Called it Wine Country.
