Teach Soap

I tried the Blueman CP soap shown on this website. I know that is discolors. Instead of turning yellow as in the pic it turned an ugly green/brown. However when cut it is a nice yellow, but then turns green/brown after a few hours. Any ideas?

Fragrance that has a vanilla content at more than 2% will turn the soap tan to brown. It can start out as yellow and as it oxidizes and becomes exposed to air it will turn from yellow to shades of tan/brown. Also, depending on oils and/or butters used, those can discolor your batch as well. Which fragrance did you use?

According to http://www.brambleberry.com/Blue-Man-Fr ... P4694.aspx it discolors to light brown. If your olive oil has a greenish tint, that will affect the final color of your bar.

Yes I saw that. However The pic here at Teach Soap shows it as yellow and does not address it turning brown.

I am sure that not mentioning the morph on the recipe page was an over-site, and it really should be added. But when I look at the picture I see tan and blue, not yellow and blue. So maybe it is also a computer monitor difference.
Wait a few weeks and see what the soap looks like. It may morph into a color combination that you like better. No matter what though, I am sure someone will like it and it smells good, so that is always a plus!

I have waited 7 weeks. I have a High Res True Color Monitor

Well okay then, you got a color you dont like! My monitor is high res/tru color too, but I see tan. So maybe I just like tan better Sorry, but I am sure someone will like it. That is the way that usually goes. Some of what I thought were my ugliest soaps were liked by many and practically flew out of the boxes. So hopefully that will happen to yours.

I added that stuff too. However I will try it again. two more batches tonight, one with some yellow color added to it.
