I know that a lot of people think that commercial products are better simply because they are- commercial. I mean, we get bombarded by the fact that "all" commercial products are tested by scientists in order to come up with the best products. I thought that way, too, until I started looking into hand-made. Maybe you could try letting your potential customers know the benefits of hand-made soap versus commercial soaps? Like choose a benefit that you like most about your soaps and get it worded down into a short slogan of sorts. Something like "No more soap scum!" Though I'm not exactly sure if that's a correct fact or not, I know that the commercial products I used would leave my skin a little flaky and feel greasy, while the MP stuff I'm using now, makes my skin feel squeaky clean. Try to figure out something that will get your customers excited to use your soap to get clean. You can also assure them that there's more where this came from and hand them your card with your information so they can check you out online or even just contact you to order more! You may also suggest that they could buy one to look at and one or two to use ^_~ Maybe you'll be able to sell a couple of bars at a time that way!
Edit to add: I know, as a customer, I like to know why a crafter decided to make their craft. So, maybe some potential customers would like to hear your story and why you love to use your own products. Another thing you may want to do is print out some testimonials from previous customers and post them somewhere easily read by your potential customers!
