Has anyone tried the Orange Peel Cybilla FO in CP? How does it compare to the 10x Orange EO? I would like to find a good orange scent to put in beer soap. Thanks

I have not, but you may want to see if this is posted on the scent review board. I love the x10 essential oil, but that can be pretty costly in soap. So if you do use it, I would recommend still adding some clay or an anchoring eo in order to, both lesson the amount of orange eo needed, and to ensure maximum fragrance from the orange.

I've used Orange peel from BB and I like the 10x Orange EO much better.

thanks for the replies! Hmm...if I went with the 10x EO, would I even need something to anchor it if I just want a "soft" orange scent? I made a batch of beer soap a while ago and used litsea cubeba...I loved the soap but noone else seemed to care for it. They said it smelled like a cleaning product!

I don't think it needs anchored, I just wanted to give it an earthy bottom note with the patchouli

I make whatever sells , and then some I like.

You know you can use real dried (and ground up to a fine powder) orange peels in this soap too. The soap I made at Christmas last year also had ground oatmeal. It had a lot of things going on but was wonderful. Im making it again this fall.

Linda, is the ground up orange peel actually add any scent to the soap or is it for exfoliation like the oatmeal? I will be doing a batch next week for a friend who chose that scent for her 'wedding' bar.

It is added for personality. No scent in the soap but it gives little bits of color and texture.
