Help!! I have never seen a top like this before. It poured great, mixed everything at 100 - 110 degrees. I used Black Raspberry & Vanilla from Nature's Garden. It's just the top that looks like this.

I don't know what happened or how this happened.

Here is the picture of the soap:

WOW!!! I wish I could help identify the problem, but honestly, I've never seen anything like it before. Is it possible the soap over heated? Sometimes I get "alien brain" if I CPOP but it never looked like that. It's weird and cool at the same time. Hopefully someone else can help with this, it is strange looking indeed.

It looks like it overheated.

I did do CPOP it was fine with a really pretty swirl. I didn't have the oven set for 170 (I think) it a dial so you can't really tell i had it closer to the 1st line then the 200 mark. Plus I have a thermometer in the oven and it wasn't registering 170 either. Things that make you go HHHMMMMM. If it did overheat is the soap still good?? Or do I need to cut off the top? But it looks kinda cool. what to, do what to do. Maybe it could have been that I had the mold lined with parchment paper then I used that corigated plastic. Never had a problem with the corigated plastic.

Thanks in advance for any answers to this crazy mystery,
Sherry

Try cutting off the top and see what the soap looks like underneath.

Ok well I didn't cut the top off but I did cut it into bars. It's just the top that looks like that. The rest of the soap looks fine. What do you think leave the top or cut it off??

I'm finicky when it comes to looks. If it was me, I would cut it off.

I say "roll with it" leave it as is! If you sell on Etsy or Artfire and find it isn't moving, then cut the tops off, but give it a go and see how it works. I think it's still pretty cool :P

I'd sell it as a "limited edition" cause really, who else is going to have a soap that looks like that?!

As long as it tests fine I would keep it as is, as I think it looks different and rather cool.

And you could call it something like "raspberry vanilla coffee cake" :) That's what the tops of my coffee cake always look like
