Thank you, soapbuddy and FairyCute! I don't think I've ever bought a silicone pan for the purposes of baking - anytime I see a cute muffin pan, I think to myself, "Wouldn't that make the sweetest little soaps?"

thanks for the Elf Fire love!

the technique i used is pretty simple. i remembered the watermelon post here: by Anne Marie. SoapyLove did it here: .

i made the outside first following the technique in the watermelon post above. then i poured my middle base (1.5 lbs of olive) (i used the 2.5 lb BB loaf mold),

then i took another 1 lb of olive base, divided it in 3 and colored it with red burgundy oxide and copper sparkle mica for the red "fire", purple , and gold sparkle.

i waited until the red was thicker and almost set up to pour. it did the rest. then i just kept pouring down the center for a firey look.

once it started to set up, i poked holes in it to get some of the white in for contrast.

then the bottom is just a layer of white/shea.

i couldn't wait to cut it to see what it looked like.

Thanks for the compliments on my heart soaps, dragonlady!

And thank you for explaining how you made the white border around your soap! What a neat idea! It turned out really nice. :D

Hello!
Here is a new soap I made recently - Tea Leaf & Jasmine Salt Bar. I'm trying to expand into more natural scents and experiment with EO's as most of my current stock consists of dessert and fruity scents. :)

Shieh ~ I rarely want to eat soap, but those are calling to me :) Just beautiful!

Marulatree: I had to go check that bar out on your shop site. That green in the bar is really beautiful.
I have a quick question, is tea leaf the same as tea tree?

WinterMoon: Thanks! I'm not sure about that.. the fragrance is named "Tea Leaf and Jasmine" so whatevers in it is the trade secret. It wasn't made by me mixing 2 essential oils. I recall Tea tree not smelling so great, and this fragrance is really nice so I'm thinking not... :)!

jrose -Thanks! Before I made a salt bar I was skimming forums and all I ever saw were horror stories of mushy bars and stuff. I've never had any problems! I use sea salt (not dead sea salt) and cover the bottom of the mold, then I only pour enough soap to completely cover the salt, once that's set I fill the rest. Not sure if this helps but it gives a nice hard bar as the salt isn't throughout the whole thing. I love it when experiments work out

This forum seems very quiet these days, where's everyone?
Here's a texture soap I made by using scrapbook plastic embossing sheet to make silicone sheet.
