Lush inspired me too!

One of the things I find interesting, is the products I still buy from them since I have started formulating.

I made my own version of Sweet Japanese Girl since they stopped making it, because I loved it so much!

I still buy Flying Fox, and I love Karma and Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds (not having yet managed to formulate a bubble bar which is as good). I really love Christmas Kisses (only available online in the retro store during the Christmas period), as it really soothes my muscles and achy bits. I expect I can probably make something like this myself, but haven't bought anything elsewhere commercially which I like as much. I love Brazen Honey from the Fresh Facemask range. I will probably try to work out how to make that at some point in the future. I have had random people compliment me on how good my skin looks after using it, and it's great on my combination skin. I also really like Vanishing Cream moisturiser.

I think Flying Fox shower gel is my favourite thing. I haven't been able to make anything as good yet, and I think it smells like sex in a bottle! I always come out of the bath or shower feeling good after using it.

The one I went to that is by me is very unsanitary!!! Mostly everyone that was in the store,to my observations was that they were all touching the soap, and sticking their nose in it!!! One was looking at the soap bombs and she sneezed all over the display.YUCK!!! Then I go and ask the girls what kind of soap was it and they looked at me like I was crazy. Then I asked them is it MP or CP and none of them could tell me. Finally one girl went and asked the manager in the office and they told her it was CP.

Hi my savior, that's what I say too!!! It's funny now that I think about it. When I started to ask them questions in front of all the other customers about the soap, you would think that if they work there, they would know what's going on. Once I started to ask questions about the stuff their attitude changed and it seemed like they were trying to get me out of the store. Because at first when I arrived they were all nice and all of them were trying to sell me something. Then it all changed!!!

Lush scents always seem like a hit-or-miss, doesn't it? What is one man's perfume (quite literally!) is another's poison! I find some of their scents fantastic really, but others remind me of the toilet somehow.

You know, I've never actually asked them about how their soaps are made, but the service crew is always quick to point out the number of natural ingredients, and the properties of essential oils used in them, though I've always wondered about the synthetic stuff as well.

I just love bath products, and when I found Lush - I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Month after month I spent hundreds in that store and then one of the sales clerks got snotty with me after I had been sold a product that was a year past its best before date. I went home and started researching how to make the products myself, I have never gone back and here I am making all my own stuff (I sell it too)! My question is - one of the most intoxicating smells I have ever smelled is Sultana of soaps from Lush. I also LOVE its creamy soft texture. If anyone has any idea what the smell is, or how I can achieve a soft and creamy CP. I would much appreciate it! (Lush site says its Bergamot, Frankincense and fragrance<-of course)

Yes, I find too that everyone I sell to speaks of them and they all think they have natural cp soaps, some people feel I am wrong when I correct them about Lush not being natural, I have given up on that one, let people think what they want I guess.

Why don't they list their ingredients on their site? (I noticed that Bath & Body Works doesn't either)
I've never heard of Lush before so this is all new to me ^_^ I can see how people can be taken in by the scent and by the "benefits of the additives", but there's another topic around here that discussed whether or not you truly got the benefits in a wash off product... And holy cow, they're expensive! $8 for 3.5 ounces?! Nearly criminal, hehe!

I was thinking, Selena, maybe you could somehow get a list of their ingredient list (even buy a product) and when a customer doesn't believe you, you could whip out the list/product and show them what you mean ^_^ It seems to me that Lush is misleading that they're natural because their additives or more or less natural even if the soap base is not...?

Several years ago I tried the Lush Soaps here in New Zealand, my skin reacted to most of them, and I ended up throwing them out, they smelt out of this world, but were full of chemicals that my skin just didn't like. Since making my own soaps, my skin has never been healthier, and moisturised, as it is now.
The wonderful thing about making your own soaps, is that you know what's in them, and you know that you aren't going to harm yourself or anyone else. I just love the creations I see on this website, they are amazing and a credit to all that have made them. 8) 8)
