Does anyone dust their mp soap lightly with arrowroot prior to shrink wrapping?

I saw this recommended somewhere as a good way to keep the plastic from sticking to the bar and looking gross ;)

From the looks of the process the shrinkwrapping gives a VERY tight seal over the soap,so it kind of makes sense to sprinkle a dusting of powder so as not to cause the heated plastic to adhear to the soap. Pj soaps would be able to expound upon this though,I think they post on this forum or you could Email them.

On another forum PJ said she sprinkles the arrowroot on there to absorb the microscopic excess humidity, that's what keeps her shrink wrap from grabbing to the soap.

Well, I gave the arrowroot a try. It was first try shrink wrapping, too.
I think the arrowroot works, the bar just lost its shine, but it did not leave a visible white residue on the surface. It slipped into the bag woth no sticking or smearing.

as far as the shrink wrapping - it was ok...I used a 4x6 bag, but the shrink wrap doesn't stick to itself, so you have to tape it closed before shrinking on the back. Frankly, I think the tape on the back looks "janky". That is a word from my high school days- a cross between "junky" and "skanky". lol

So I ordered one of those impulse sealing machines - hopefully that will look a lot better.

I have heard about using arrowroot and also corn starch. I think you will find they are to help the soap slide easily into the bag when you're packing them. I've not used either - I just persevere until I get the soap in! lol

Purple Molly if you cut a piece of wax paper twice the size of you bar width you wrap the bar slip it in and then just pull the waxed paper out. Voila no skid marks and easy peasy!
