Hi Selina001. I think we are probably talking about the same supplier and when I sent an email explaining that on both occasions I used the FO it seized not matter how careful I was, he asked me to explain what the term "Seize" meant. He wasn't even sure what his product was meant to be used in as he just buys it in from a supplier. I suggested that it might be a good idea to find out and let prospective purchasers know, but he said no that was too difficult. I should have checked his product out more before buying so I guess its as much my fault. Thanks for the heads up on your supplier and I will check them out. Where in NZ are you? I'm in Cambridge.

ha really!? I think I deal with a different supplier, mines a woman. I dont think we have any decent CP FO available here, they are all cheap imports not designed specifically for CP.

What ever you do dont order from escentials of australia, no contact after 2 weeks, so I cancelled my order, he then charged me $110 for courier plus products and wont refund my money or answer emails....hmmmm $7 versus $110 - go figure??!!

Hi there and thanks so much for the links. I will certainly try some of those out. It is a shame that we can't get good reasonably prices EO and FO's here. Apart from the exchange rate working against us the freight costs only make it worse. I placed a order the other day with Aussie Soap Supplies and over and above the huge freight cost they charged me an extra $15 Aussie just to post it. Very, very expensive exercise. Probably won't order from them again as their minimum order is way too high to start with. That order just about broke the bank.

Cat I recently read something a man soaper wrote about this very subject. He said he puts 1/2 his lye/water into the oils and stirs then adds 1/2 his fo mixes, lastly he adds the remainder of the lye/water stirs then the remainder of his fo. He feels this works because things are done gradually and they is time to adjust. It's worth a try. From all I've read here the jury is mixed!

I saw first hand what acceleration is like! I made a batch of soap today and split it in two, added two different FO's. Batch one gave me no problems. Batch two hated me and as soon as I started stirring it turned into a mayonnaise like consistency. I had to pack it in, but I think it'll be okay. I'm just experimenting so it's not a big deal if it doesn't come out pretty, but it still shocked me!
