Teach Soap

Hello,
I'm fairly new to soap making, but I just made 48 soaps for a baby shower in different scents.
Oatmeal, Milk & Honey & Fresh Bamboo which I received as a sample with my first order from brambleberry this was the favorite But now I want to try mixing 2 or more fragrance oils or essentials oils to create some signature scents. Does anyone have a few combinations they can share and suggestions to create some nice scents. I'm still learning about which ones are top,middle, etc. notes and how much should be used.

Try the q-tip trick. Put a drop of each fragrance on each q-tip. Then put those q-tips either in a ziploc bag or a little glass jar (like a baby food jar) and let the scent mingle and mix for a day or two. Then smell the result. There are no hard and fast rules. Top, middle and bottom notes work better with essential oils, then fragrance oils.

I do not mix alot, but have a few go-to mixes. Lavendar and teatree; champagne and any thing fruit; black cherry and vanilla select.

I regularly try new mixtures by using the q tip method. I label the bags and I write down how I think the scent smells in my soaping notebook. Sometimes I've come up with some really good ones, other times Yuck!!

Here's some that I think are good:
Lilac & Apple
Lilac & Lemon
Clove & Orange
Vanilla & Coffee
Lavender & Vanilla
Rose & Vanilla (smells really similar to baby powder)
Orange & Honeysuckle
Strawberry & Lemon
Lavender & Patchouli

One of my favorites is 1 part peppermint e.o. and 2 parts coconut f.o. Another one is equal parts lavender e.o. and rose f.o.

When used in combination with peppermint, the combination stays, at least at my last sniffing. The soap was made before Christmas and the fragrance is still there.
