Teach Soap

I made a batch of soap 3 days ago that won't come out of the mold. It feels hard as a rock now but it's not budging. I stuck it in the freezer and that has never failed me before. It's like it's being suctioned to it. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

What type of mold is it? I had that experience today with my Castile soap in a pvc pipe...but I did get it out

If the soap is frozen solid, can you run warm water over the outside of the mold to help break suction?

Ok, I only froze it for 20 minutes. I had never went longer than that before. It's back in the freezer now and I'm going to freeze it solid and do the water thing.
It's the celtic knot mold 4 cavity I got from BB.

I leave my molds in the freezer, up to overnight. Sometimes as the mold start to warm up the soap comes right out. Other times, I run warm water over the outside and that helps.

I left it in the freezer for an hour and a half, then took it out and ran scalding hot water over it for a few minutes. Not budging. I guess the last thing I can do before destroying it will be trying the overnight freezing. It's so strange...I made this batch and seperated it into two- half was scented with rosemary and peppermint EO, the other with jasmine EO and sandalwood FO. The jasmine and sandalwood scented came out of their molds in a day easily. The rosemary peppermint is stuck.

I've laughed out loud for the first time in days.

During the holidays my gingerbread boys stuck inside their mold. I ended up leaving them in for 3 weeks, then floated them in a bowl of very warm water for 1-2 minutes each and they finally released. I will now grease those molds with vasilene before using! The year before it only took 20 - 30 min in the freezer and they released. Had the same issue with the milky way large stones mold.

With my pvc, the first time I used it the soap slid right out, this last time it wouldnt budge (and I had two of them sitting there) for love nor money, I beat on them with a can inserted in the end, and only succeded in mashing my can...I froze them, then used a hairdryer on the outside, nothing, they were like cemented in...I ended up freezing them for 2 hours then throwing them in the oven for about ten minutes on a cookie sheet at like 250*...slid right out...was a real workout. Is your mold oven safe at low temps?

When I started using Sodium Lactate in my recipes that were going into the Milky Way molds, I no longer had trouble getting them out of the mold. I pour them and then refrigerate for 24 hours. So far, since using the SL I have not had one that won't release. I tried the SL at 1% and 2% and found that the 2% works best with this type of mold. Otherwise, I like 1% when I use my loaf or tray molds. HTH
