I have never read this helpful hint...and I have spent hours, upon hours reading and watching videos.....This is my 6th batch.
As we get into summer...it was 85 here in SC today, and I am a miser and wont use the AC til Im ready to drop...
FYI...Coconut Oil turns to liquid in the container...whats more is if your holding it sideways while removing the top, because you know you have a brick of oil inside, that will take your heaviest spoon to gouge out...you will be unpleasantly surprised! your floor and feet will be moisturized beyond belief! What a mess!

Sorry to laugh at your misfortune.........but I can envision it happening, and ....it is funny!
Just out of curiosity, what did you think the 76 degrees meant?
I hope you made good use of all that oil and squished your toes in it but good! I mean, if you're going to spill it, you may as well enjoy it as much as possible!
And, btw, I hate that you are enjoying such warm weather when I am hearing that we are expecting a cold front and snow again!
PS, I do feel for you and am not laughing AT you, just at the situation and the mental picture I got!

    you are cute and sweet. And since you only got moisturized, I will laugh! Hey, some people pay big time dollars for a foot moisturizer, you just created your own!
Seriously, since you did not know it was one of those solids that melts at a warmer temp, I do feel for you. But now you know and I dont think you will ever forget. Plus, you have a good story for one night when you are playing cards or sitting around a camp fire. Not to mention, I live alone and so rarely get a good laugh, so I really thank you for sharing!

I use 92 degree coconut. I add fractionated coconut in foot butter oil mine so it's not quite so greasy.

I know how you feel Joatmon! I live in south Georgia...and when I made my first batch last year, I was confused as to why my "hard" oils (coconut oil, palm oil) were in liquid form, LOL! Took me a minute to figure it out...100+ degrees outside, and the AC inside going full-blast wasn't enough to keep them solid. But don't feel bad...I once dropped an entire 2lb container of (liquid) coconut oil while I was trying to pour it to measure...it went all over the place! It was a true PITA to clean up!!!
But on the bright side, how sweet is it not to have to melt all this stuff? Whoo-hoo, spring is here...no more chipping away at half-melted coconut oil from the microwave!! I'm gonna put my CO on the back porch friday night to be ready for Saturday soaping time!

LavenderLady, I noticed you said you rarely got a good laugh, and while this is totally off-topic, I thought I'd post a link to one of the funniest skits I've ever seen. I adore Bob Newhart, and thought this was hilarious...
