Teach Soap

I am looking to get into making some soaps for Men! I have heard that the new fragrance for men these days have high notes of ...Leather, Bourbon, Tobacco, etc... Can I get some feedback on what some folks have tried and what is working for you. I will - of course - be purchasing these scents from Brambleberry. What is BB's best selling men's fragrances?

I don't know what their best sellers are, but Wasabi is a really nice scent that is crisp and clean. Black Tea and Spearmint Eucalyptus are also nice. WSP has an FO called "Over the Hill" that has a masculine scent with wood and tobacco notes.

I don't know what sells best, but my son and I both like Energy. I don't think I would like Bourbon, Tobacco, and Leather.......Bubbles2 will probably tell you not to get me started on Leather. I know where that smell comes from.
I might try the Black Tea and Spearmint Eucalyptus ljm1180, those sound interesting.

I really like the Arabian Nights... nice spicy scent.

I love the mens scents and use them myself as well. Indian Sandalwood, Cedar and Saffron, Beau Brummel are some of my favorites and sell well for me but others that men buy are Turkish Mocha, Dragonsblood and Orange Peel so I guess it just depends.

Cedarwood & Sage

I used to carry Leather and Lace, but it did not sell well at all.

A lot of men also buy my baby powder scented soap. They really like the smell.

Marakesh is a great men's scent, but be prepared to work FAST!!! It accelerates trace. I also use Dragon's Blood and the guys really like that one too, you don't have to work as fast with that one.

You can make your own "Old Spice" scent by mixing 1 Part Allspice to 1 Part Sandalwood essential oils. I have used this formula to make cologne for my husband.

It really is individual when it comes to a 'manly' scent. I would say anything that is fresh and clean smelling would do it.
As for the leather.... it is one of my favorites not my husbands. He would be more into the fruit or citrus, where I ask myself - do I really want to wash with fruit? But I mostly ask why would anyone what to smell like tabacco???
It may come down to the packaging and marketing (with the exception of strong floral scents) that makes it a mans soap.
