Ive been searching and reading that this needs to stay cool. I have my milk freezing, I plan on mixing the lye in really slowly and having the bowl in an ice bath.

I only have wooden molds. Is that going to be an issue? I told my husband we need to make room in the fridge, so I can pop them in after I pour. Should I maybe cool the molds a little bit? I dont want to mess this up! How long in the fridge? My garage is really cool right now too, so I thought I could put them out there maybe after I take them from the fridge.

I was thinking of going all out and doing it with oatmeal and honey too. Reading mixed amounts on how much oatmeal to add! lol But I also read the honey can heat things up.

I feel like Im over thinking it but I paid like $6.50 for this gallon of goat milk and while if I mess up once, it wont be TOO bad, but messing up more then that would suck haha

ty :D

Goat's milk has natural sugars. If you add honey, that's more sugar and your soap could overheat. You can add 1 TBS of oatmeal per lb. of soap. I wouldn't insulate. If the mold fits in the fridge, that's what I would do.
