Just got my BB order, YAY! I knew from the website that they were running a bit behind on shipping...no big deal...def worth the wait! But I was disappointed that I didn't get that little free FO sample bottle along with all my other FO's...I was looking forward to a random sniff, LOL! The DH was actually laughing at me for tearing through the box not once, not twice, BUT three times searching for my little "surprise"...

Well much to my surprise I got 2 samples in my last order !!!! Go figure maybe I got yours on accident? :)

I'm sure it was just an oversight. Tell them & ask for 2 next time you order, I'm sure they would be happy to oblige

I got a free sample with my last order, it was wake up rosemary. it is a very nice scent. I was disappointed to have to wait over 2 weeks for my order, and when they did ship it it was without one item which became out of stock while I was waiting. BOO.

I too received a BB order without something I wanted that had become out of stock, but I did receive a free sample. In fact, I actually received 2, as they sent something that smelled similar to what I wanted. I was just disappointed because I was refunded money instead of them checking to see if I wanted something else (shipping prices being what they are and all). I then placed another order and received that just the other day, it also with a free sample, so I would say that yours was a simple mistake. Sorry for that!

I don't expect a freebie every time I order from BB. If I get one, that's nice, if I don't that's ok too. When BB is busy, they most likely don't have the time to fill all those small bottles. They are time consuming. I'd rather get my order on time, then get my order later because they had to make up more freebies. After all, they are freebies.

I agree, a freebie is a freebie and not to be expected......UNLESS the website clearly states that they provide free samples with every order, which BB does. Then it is expected! Still, very nice, and mistakes do happen, so cut em a break, but don't be hard on yourself for expecting it either! :mrgreen:

Soapbuddy, I posted this out of curiosity if BB had stopped sending "freebie" samples with each order because they were behind on their orders (although the BB website still says that that they send a freebie with every order)...and I totally agree with you that I would rather get my order on time without the free sample.
But the fact remains that I did not get my order on time...it took almost a week to even get it processed, much less shipped. I was aware of this when I placed my order, but I appreciate the quality of BB enough to order anyway, despite the delay. The lack of the freebie sample is such a small thing...but if BB customers are willing to be patient with them, shouldn't they at least live up to their stated claims?
BTW, this is only my second order from BB...I only started soaping last August. I chose BB to order the items I needed to start my soap-making journey, and was SOOO excited while I waited anxiously for my BB package! I was tracking my order online everyday, and I even left work early on the day it was to arrive...only to find that it had been damaged in shipping, and that I would have to wait another week at least until I could start making soap. This was not BB's fault, but I was a little PO'd that I paid $20 for shipping charges, and it took more than 3 weeks to get my order.

Hi Team,

We definitely try to include free samples - something (fragrance, seed, color, mold - something!) - with every order, even when/if we're behind. With 250ish orders shipped per day, it's a lot of fragrance oil (almost 8 pounds a day!) but that also means that if we even miss 1% of boxes with fragrance samples, that's 2.5 boxes per day and if the sample works its way down and gets missed, then voila, that's 5 disappointed people per day.

We do try to make up for missed samples; if you write a note on your order with a "Hey, you missed my sample last time and I'd love to try X this time if possible", we do our best to include it because we want only happy, delighted soapers. And free samples in any order always make me delighted so I assume our customers are the same. =) I have spoken to the packers 3 times in the last month about this because I swear, I keep seeing notes on FB, here and Twitter about it so the packers definitely know that free samples are a must-do.

Rest assured, we are definitely giving out free samples, even when insanely busy. But on the super awesome news, we're getting fully caught up and should be back to normal turnaround time by Friday. Yay! Thank you to everyone for your kindness, patience and understanding with our growing pains. =)

I waited until you were only about a week behind before placing my order and it arrived on Monday, complete with free sample! I ordered Wasabi Fo and Black Tea FO and they smell awesome - I can't wait to use them in soap! You guys do a great job. :P
