Teach Soap

Someone gave me some of their cold process soap to try out. When I pulled a slice out of the bag, there are pink & blue dots on one side, but not on the other and not on the other slices she gave me (none of the slices were wrapped). Is it okay to use? I am a m&p only, so I have NO idea.

Pink and blue spots like color? Do they have a smell? Did you email the soapmaker and asked?

Artistic design? Doesn't sound like anything I have ever heard of...pink and blue? The blue, maybe a shade of ash....pink??? maybe a bead of color from a powder? For that matter I guess blue could be too. I am with SoapBuddy, call and ask.

Perhaps it was stored in say a plastic veggie bag and the coloring from the bag transfered to the soap?

That's a good one Mella, sounds plausible. One ringy dingy, two ringy dingy, hello? What is pink and blue all over? Your soap! Why is that?
Sorry couldn't help myself. It has to be a little worrisome to have a question like this, until I knew the deal I would use the ones that weren't colored like pink and blue.

For those of us who were scratching our heads.

I have some blue dots on my blue soap which means I didn't stir the color enough. This seems to be a problem for me when I use undiluted lab colors. I now dilute my lab colors in about .5 0z water and stir, stir, stir.
