Teach Soap

I'm in a fix..or so I think I am, maybe it's no big deal. I am in the middle of a batch of hazelnut coffee soap. I just mixed the lye with the coffee and I think I poured the lye in a little too quickly. The lye started to stick in the cup and now there are a few white bits at the bottom that won't dissolve...now what do I do with it? It seems putting it in the soap is not an option. How do I get rid of it? Pour more water into it? Add vinegar? Pour it down the drain, pour it in the garbage? wait a day or two? I don't know what to do! Accepting any advice.

Just strain it. I would use this lye water to make a batch. After you're done, with gloves on, rinse this container out till it's clean. Don't use soap to wash it with.

Hello. Here's my soap! I had to compress the pic quite a bit to upload it. I'm hoping it works!! The soap sort of matches my kitchen counter tops...makes it a little hard to decipher the soap from the counter...need to think about good ways to photograph my soap, I love pics of pretty bars. This was my first real batch with scent or anything. This is so much fun!! I can't wait to use it! My husband told me tonight that I should consider doing hot process because then I don't have to wait and I will stop going in the basement to sniff it and check on it! HA!

Congratulations! Hope2soap no longer fits, you ARE soaping! And it looks good too, btw, nice touch with the camo'd out soap. You trying to hide it from DH or what?

Your soap looks great and I bet it smells heavenly! And, yes, you will always be sneaking sniffs of your soaps! I have all mine spread over every flat surface in my guest bedroom & just found out that my daughter is coming for a visit the end of March. That gives me a month to find foster homes for them! LOL
