This might sound silly, I have heard that you can use koolaid in bath bombs if its unsweetened, what about in cp?

No, I woudn't use it in either. It is not meant nor safe for bath and body products.

Must have food grade coloring in it... but remember back to when we dyed our hair with kool-aide? I think this just might stain your skin.

Think about this a second ladies. If you can drink this stuff, it would be skin-contact safe. The outside of your body is more durable than the inside. While I wouldn't soak myself in it for hours at a time (I wouldn't soak myself in anything that long), I doubt that a little washing from a bar of soap or a bath fizz would hurt anybody. It's koolaid.....if it's bad for the skin you better start rushing all those kids who drink the stuff to the hospital. I'm betting that lye would turn red koolaide green.

Lets try this example: a mother purchases some pretty green soap for her dtr to pamper herself on her wedding day. The dtr gets in the tub soaps all up, soaks for a while, rinses off and her skin is tinted green! I would not want to be the soap maker that made that bar. I have dyed my hair green with koolaide! Maybe the lye would kill the color but with all the other choices out there why even consider this?

Didn't realize we were discussing FDA regs. Thought it was if it was going to harm your skin. If FDA regs were followed for every batch of soap made, wouldn't making it from and rendering tallow be against the regs also?

I have never been able to find rendered tallow, and do not have the time to do it myself.... do you render it yourself? Lard is so easy to come by.

I live in a pig state. A 9 pound bucket of lard from the local place is $3 so I don't do it myself. Don't think I would render tallow anyway. I''m not that ambitious.

Again, my apologies Soapbuddy. I was incorrect.

Never thought much about it but aside from using things like soy milk, goats milk, melon dripping, beer, wine, pomegranate juice and some other stuff, I don't think I ever broke the rules on soapmaking BY NOT FOLLOWING FDA regs. The closest I probably came was accidentally dumping some of my Captain Crunch cereal from a box into my already melted oils. I made the batch anyway and kept it for personal use. Was actually pretty nice from what I remember. Probably the 12 tablespoons of sugar that's in every bowl.
