Teach Soap

I bought this jar of dead sea mud from New Direction, not dry, wet. I've been using it as facial mask, but now I'm thinking about trying out the dead sea mud soap. Anyone knows how much I should use? Should I discount water since this is wet not dry? Any weird smell by using dead sea mud? Just by itself right now already got that fishy muddy smell...

I made a batch of soap from Dead Sea Mud that I purchased for my wife to use for the masks. It turned out pretty well. I was please with it. Read the thread then if you have any questions about my methodology, technique, useage rates, photos, etc,, you know where to find me......for now.

To first answer your questions. No fishy smell, nothing weird. Just a good feeling on the skin after showering. Like you were using a bar that was superfated with 30% shea butter. Good lather, hold together nice, etc. I like it a lot.

Oh....and no.....I didn't discount squat.

It behaved nicely. No overheating, and it held the fragrance well. I CPOP all my soaps and this didn't behave any differently than the others. I used 1 tbs PPO and used a stick blender to thoroughly mix and incorporate the mud. Used BB's Tahitian Vanilla.

I'm predicting this is going to be a good seller.

Alright, dead sea mud, here I come tonight!

I think I have to add this one to my "must try" list also! I have been pondering it since I read SS's post a while back and now I am beginning to drool. I have powdered mud so I much have to wet it and go! Post some pictures when you do it pretty please??

I made a second batch that's on the curing rack now. I also have a couple "trial bars" left to anybody who wants to try them before buying mud. The sample bars aren't perfect and they're rough cut from a chocolate milk carton. It almost feels like you're applying lotion to your body while you're still wet from the shower. I like it a lot.

It's only 1 picture and it's not very good. I'll post another here tomorrow of the new batch. It looks better. I think I used too much mud in the first batch.

its looks and sounds awesome, now i wanna try to make it! my hubby is gonna go broke with everyone throwing out all these ideas!
