Hi Everyone :P
I would like to have a soap stamp made. Any suggestions on where I can have one made? Is it done in a mat that I
lay in the bottom of my loaf mold or individual ones that I would put in indivual Silicon molds. How exactly is this done? Is a mirror image done of my design and the soap mixture is pored on top of the stamp or do I stamp the soap before it is harden? I would like to find the most economical way to do this and have it still look great!
As you can probably tell .... I don't have a clue.

Thank you!
einnoc

You can have one made here, but it's an actual stamp that you use after the soap is done. http://www.soapimpressions.com/custom.html
It's not done in a mat style. Those are extremely expensive.
You can also get a custom soap mold here> http://precisioncraft.net/
As the pics scroll on the front page, you will see that Ginger's Garden is there in green. I had custom soap molds done there.

Would stamps like you use for leatherworking work to stamp soap?

I had a great custom soap stamp made by Anhoki's husband
http://www.etsy.com/listing/61946976/ma ... a_ref=auto
You can see my design here:

Image

I came up with the design, sent it to them in a jpeg, and just in case they didn't have the font I used, I included that file as well! :0) I had them make up two sizes for me, one for my travel size and one for my regular size bar. You imprint the design by placing stamp on soap, and tap with a hammer. I only at this time make MP soap.

Sorry Soap Buddy.. but they are more cost effective too! My stamp only cost around 30 bucks. :0)

Thanks everyone for the info & and the links.
These stamps are all incredible!
jkmcreative your stamp is the right price and beautiful!

When do you tap the design into the finished M&P, just after it hardens?

Thanks,
einnoc

How are your stamps made?

I recently bought one made by Milkyway Soap Stamps, from justasoap.co.uk, but it was rubbish! It was a rubber stamp mounted on wood. Couldn't get it to leave a decent impression. I had high hopes for it, as it was going to be part of the design for some wedding favours I'm making. Alas, no. Major fail. Am now awaiting a cookie cutter (much cheaper) with the right design on it (tulips) and am going to use that to embed instead. Really disappointed as the stamp cost a lot more than the cookie cutter and is basically useless.

Also, yours looks like a much clearer design. Any tips on getting ones that work? Seems like a really handy idea, for when you are producing lots of something but want a pretty design.
