What the heck . . . a pail opener? Where can I find a pail opener? I've never heard of them. Do they make a simple, easy-to-use replacement lid to keep on those pails? I have the lids just sitting lightly on top of the pails right now until I can figure out how to cover them without having to snap those crazy lids back down into place.

Here is a pail opener. You can also find them in your local hardware store. http://www.uline.com/BL_8163/Pail-Opener
You can also buy plain lids for your pail. http://www.uline.com/BL_8150/Plastic-Pails-And-Lids

 I can soooooo see this happening and if I had a Dad I could see it happening to me! I have health issues too, so I am so glad that I read the hints about the opener and the replacement lids! Uline has long been a friend of mine, and it looks like they will remain so!

For us single women, it is definitely helpful to have a strong brother, father, husband, or boyfriend around to help with this kind of stuff. Same with lifting 50lb bags of dog food from out of the trunk of the car. I think someone should open a Rent-a-Husband business. The rental hubbie could come over and lift heavy stuff, kill spiders, wash the car, mow the lawn, open pickle jars, and get things off of high shelves. Just sayin'.

That sounds like a business that SupermanSoaper should start. "Rent a Hubby" You can rent yourself out by the hour to single women. If it works good then you can hire some of your friend and start a booming business you never know!!

I call Dibs on SupermanSoaper.

I'll get in line for a rent a hubby, as long as he works cheap and goes home at the end of the day!

That's a plus of course, but I could tolerate that (a good snicker does wonders for the soul) as long as HE goes home before nightfall!

. . . and we'll pay the Rent-A-Husband extra if he compliments us and asks us if we've lost weight.

How much extra if he tells you that the outfit you're wearing brings out the beauty in your eyes? And has dinner ready for you when you arrive home from work?

Where's my wingman DaveW? Dave.....I'm smelling a business opportunity here. What do you think?

I just tell the truth. If you have pretty eyes I'll tell you. If you don't I'll keep my mouth shut. I see nothing wrong with complimenting people. And yes, I'm married....but I'm still a guy so I like to appreciate beauty regardless whether it is a work of art, an automobile or another human being. A vow is a vow is a vow. Needs not explanation as far as I'm concerned.

My wife was gone for almost 5 whole days and just returned this afternoon. It's nice to have her home.

Honestly, I keep thing pretty up to date around the house. I guess you can say I'm retired so if something breaks or needs done, I do it right then instead of waiting. So thankfully there isn't a "list" yet.

But yes, a pail opener is a handy tool to have around if the pails are difficult to open. I usually carry a large resealable container about twice the size of a Crisco can that I fill with coconut oil and just scoop from the 5-gallon bucket to the smaller container. I just find it easier.

And Midnightstorm, I know you had stickershock when you got the bill for 5 gallons of coconut and 5 gallons of palm oil. But price them someplace else and you'll see how much money you saved. You got that "twofer" that LavenderLady was talking about.

I live in Fl so I had to pay a little over $160 for my 5 gal of palm and coconut oil...and they still havent gotten here. :(
Lucky for me though I do have a live in pail opener...he is 6' 3" and about 190lbs! Does a great job at building at me soap molds as well!
I think I could make arrangements for that rent a hubby lol...oh by the way he is wonderful with compliments and even does all the dishes LOL ;)
