I work in a hospital and rarely wear perfume for obvious reasons. I was delighted that the soaps I made using BB FO's left a lingering scent on my skin after using them (at 1/2 oz pp)...I get just a whiff of scent occasionally, but my patients often mention how nice I smell! I don't get this at all with FO's from Peak... they smell nice in the shower, but zero scent afterwards. Has anyone else experienced this? I love BB, but the FO's are a bit on the pricey side :(
I posted a similar question on another forum and the responses were pretty much that CP soaps didn't leave any scent that would be detectable on your skin hours after you used them. But I can still smell BB's Vanilla Vanilla FO on my husband when he comes home from work, and vice versa...WHY?

BB has top notch fragrances that do linger on the skin. Even on days that I don't wear anything, people around me tell me that I smell good and that's just from my morning shower soap.

I have found that the peppermint EO from BB will stay with me longer than most of the fragrances. Kind of an added bonus with soap being washed off of the skin.

Another way to help make the scent linger is by using the scent in your favorite shampoo bar or handmade shampoo. The scents stay in my hair for pretty much all day if I do this.

I have to say I do notice they linger! I only have FO's from two places, BB and another place. I'm not sure if it's the types I bought at the other place (maybe those scents are lighter anyway? lime, buttercream, chocolate), but notice BB stick on my skin after I wash with it for a while anyway. And that's saying a lot..you can never smell ANYTHING on my skin after I use it. i don't hold scent well lol. My hubby does, I can smell him hours later and he always smells clean ..I'm jealous
He used my beau brummel soap I made him and I smelled it on him even after he came home from work. I used them in m&p.
BB's FO's seem thicker or something then this other place. Good quality!

Hmmm...this idea of lingering scent is quite interesting. I'm excited!

Do Mountain Rose Herbs EOs do the same thing?

Anyone else experience this in other brands?

Thanks!
Essential oils that are considered base or bottom notes like Vetiver or Patchouli will last on the skin a good long while; even from soap.
That's good to know...I'll remember that as I concoct! Lol

I get most of my FOs from BB, with fantastic results. I had purchased FOs from brick and mortar craft stores when I was just getting starting with MP soap, and it was a waste of money. They smelled off and didn't linger (which was probably a good thing, in this case). Before I settled with almost exclusively BB, I also shopped at local vendors and other sites, but I kept coming back to BB for their FOs. I have, however, found that one other site I trust has a much broader range of EOs. If I need an EO in an emergency, Aura Casia (available at health/organic grocery stores) is great quality, but be prepared to leave an important body part or spare organ at the counter.

...and now I've found the Aura Cacia website. Oh, curses! Someone hide my wallet, stat!
