I would love an east coast warehouse..I have to say out of almost 20 working years (Ok I'm "only" 36 , so maybe 16 working years) ..I haven't worked much. (due to my lack of liking people and preferring animals instead lol ) I would totally work for you (why I got offended at that poster on the "How to deal with haters" post"). You could open a warehouse 2 hours from my town and I would still contemplate working there, even with the gas prices! If you ever do open something over here on the east, please let us know where you post the job postings at lol!

As a brand new soaper surfing the internet for instructions on how to make soap, I came across Anne-Marie's Soap Queen TV, then her blog, late last year and I was hooked! I told a friend about it, and now she's hooked too and we sometimes get together to do new BB projects. Fun, fun!

But I do have to say that I have had some real issues with Bramble Berry shipping costs and delivery times as well. Now I mostly only order from BB if I'm looking for a particular FO that I've grown to like. When I want to try a new fragrance though, I try to order something new from WSP so that I won't get hooked on anymore of the BB FO's than I already have (since it takes so long to get them).

I live in a rural area near the state line of Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia. So far I've only ordered supplies from Bramble Berry, Wholesale Supplies Plus, and The Sage. I have the most trouble, by far, with my BB orders.

On at least one occasion though, some of the fault was on the part of Fed Ex. I was very angry at the time but now I can laugh about it because it was rather funny the way it played out. It would have made a good UPS commercial.

I had been waiting for several weeks on an order from BB, and after calling BB and raising heck with them (sorry Leah and Anne-Marie), I finally looked online to track the package. The tracking page showed that my BB package had been sitting in a Fed Ex facility for the last 4 days and the facility was just 20 minutes away from me!

When I called Fed Ex they said the driver was not comfortable driving down my snowy road to deliver the package (even though I had been driving my little car in and out that road all week with no problem). When I asked why they hadn't called me, they told me there was not phone number anywhere on the package.

On that very same day, I drove home to find I had already received the WSP package that I had ordered barely 48 hours previously. There were tracks in the snow that showed the UPS driver had parked his truck at the end of the road and walked my WSP package to my house.

Bramble Berry has wondering customer service and products, but WSP is only about 4-5 hours away from me so it is so much quicker and easier to order from them. I agree with everyone else that I sure wish BB had an East Coast or Midwest facility. They would get more of my business for sure.

Linda

Hi Linda,

Leah says 'Hi.' =)

Yes, shipping transit times can really be a drag when we're shipping across the country. It makes sense that your vendor in your same state would get products to you a bit faster than us since we're half a country away. Our WA customers have one day transit time too since they're close by. It's just a matter of geography (with the exception of our hideous yet unusual turnaround/processing time that we're having challenges with now). =)

I'm so glad that you're able to have fun with your friend soapmaking and utilizing all the resources that we work really hard to provide. Soapmaking is (in my opinion), the very best hobby and business in the world. Everyone needs good soap! =) And, a creative outlet...

I live in southern Ohio and, while I have to wait a bit for BB deliveries, they have never been that bad. Besides that, I find the WSP to be quite expensive in the majority of their offerings. I certainly do not order everything from BB, but I do find that a lot of their products are cost effective and very competitive in the marketplace, even with the shipping. I would, however, like BB better if they utilized the USPS when possible, and offered UPS delivery, as well as FedEx. A lot of companies offer all three choices and it really affects my bottom line. Offering all 3 choices would, in all likelihood, increase my BB purchases :D !

Ok, sorry it took me a while to get this info... had to double check some things.

If you ask for UPS in the notes of your order then we will ship UPS. However, we do find UPS shipments tend to be more expensive than Fed Ex. But we happily ship UPS for customers that ask. We recommend customers who have a UPS account ship the order third party collect so you can get whatever discount you’ve negotiated with them. If we are shipping via UPS on our account, the freight change will cause a delay on the order of a couple days and usually we need to get a second payment for the new, higher total. If you have a UPS account, the best way is to include that account number in the note, then we will not have to delay the order.
