I've been interested in doing a couple types of these soaps for a while now. I saw someone else have one too. I think they are so pretty!
http://www.etsy.com/listing/58448195/he ... s-handmade
she has a lot more pretty ones too.

I'm attempting to guess how it's done lol I'm thinking some of those clear unmounted stamps in the same design (like in this video http://www.youtube.com/user/soapqueentv ... 2VRkZ_dt5M) laid out in a silicone brownie pan? Some of these soaps look a little too detailed for some of those stamps though hmm.
I think there might be some instructions here http://www.brambleberry.com/Lets-Get-So ... P4535.aspx
but I don't have 15.00 right now for a 20 page book so was trying to figure it out myself and without the use of the flexy fast stuff right now.
Any thoughts on this technique?

Shinycat,
I make soap like that and it is rather easy. You take those clear silicon stamps and place them stamp side up in your mold. Then stray with alcohol. If you want them to all be one color melt your mp and pour into your mold. Once cool take soap out of the mold and peel off the stamp.
If you want to be more detailed add different layers. For example I did a olive green layer up to the highest ridges on the stamp. Then poured a white layer over it. This makes the lines in the stamp stand out. It's so much fun! Good luck! 5370020960_3f849a6b79_m.jpg

It kinda looks to me like a fondant mat for decorating cakes. You could probably secure a mat to the bottom of a silicone pan or some kind of mold that will fit it and then pour your soap over it.

Something like these?

There's all kinds of cool soaping-making stuff in the bakeware aisle of craft stores. 8)

Hi, that is made with a fondant impressions mat, probably cut to fit a mould, here is a link to that particular pattern.

http://www.wilton.com/store/site/produc ... &killnav=1

check out their other patterns too, they make lovely soaps

Wow! I have heard of background stamps and impression plates for die cutters, but never fondant mats. This opens up another avenue for me. Thanks everyone.

Hi,
I just looked in HobbyLobby.com and they have the Fondant Imprint Mat - Floral Fantasy and several others for $19.99 each :P If anyone signs up to receive their email, they send a 40% off coupon every week! :P

20 x 20 inches at both places! Would you cut these for a loaf mold or into squares for a square mold?

omg thank you everyone for the replies! Yes it does look like the fondant mats. Sometimes I don't feel so creative when I see things like this lol
I have a ton of Wilton products here, but none of these. I'm out of the loop on baking stuff!
Most seem to be 20x20 so I'm sure you can cut them to fit into a silicone baking pan. Often you will find if you sign up at these websites you can get a 40 - 50% off coupon. I did notice at hobby lobby you got a 40% off coupon on the website.
Even more things to add to my wish list lol, thanks again! I need to think outside the box some more

We don't have Hobby Lobby. I wonder if Michael's carries them?
