Yes this is very concerning as if we don't have enough problems with the purchase of lye. Once again proving where there is a will there is a way, too bad it is so negative. What ugly things people do to their bodies, when we strive to pamper the body.

The substance they are using is called cathinone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathinone
It is a powder that could be mistaken for bath salts. Cathinone is the active substance in khat and this substance produces a feeling of euphoria. I would think it's along the same lines as cocaine powder made from coca leaves.

A similar story posted on the local news website last week. Some nutcases are doing things that are making life difficult for the rest of us. Some nut with cemtex in his shoe next thing you know we have to remove our shoes when arriving at the airport.

Meth labs are plentiful in eastern NC. For this reason, lye is getting more difficult to find and harder to buy. There's a local ordinance in the county where I live. If you purchase lye, you have to give your name and address to the county sheriff's office. They have a form you have to sign when you make the purchase at the store. I give my address as 123 Main Street, Anytown, NC and my name changes each time. Last week it was Peter Jamishkowaquaskiwintohovitz. Yes, it's spelled correctly. Thankfully they're not asking for ID yet.
