The more I hang out in this forum and the more I study I start to worry about some of my past batches of soap that I have given people. I have always used a recipe given me and maybe just tweeked it a bit to add some castor or cocoa butter but I can't help worrying now.........."Oh my gosh, maybe that soap was too drying. Did the user notice that? Will they ever accept soap from me agian?" It seems like the only they ever say is something like "I loved the licac. It smelt so good" Little do they realize my soap is mostly the same recipe with just different fragrance. Am I over worring this? Does any other Newbie have this same concern?

I would tell them that you will giove them free soap if they can tell you what the soap feels like, how well does it lather, is the scent too weak; too strong etc...
I don't know your people, but would they be willing to answer a short questionnaire?

Of course we all want to make fantastic soap! I have not given a questionnaire but when they say something I will ask another question, like does it leave your skin smooth, was your skin dry, did you get bubbles etc? Also remember not everyones skin chemistry is the same, so what works for one may not work for the other. And one bar of soap may not be enough to correct any damage they had from using detergent on their skin!

I always give people samples of my new stuff to try out (after I've washed my hands with it). Especially if it is something new that I've never done before....like my cream soap that is currently rotting. The only person that's tested it yet is my daughter!
